Troubleshooting: Open With… Function Does Not Contain Expected Application

In some instances, the Open With… menu may not display an application that you expect to be available to edit photos. Mylio uses your operating system’s Open With option to determine which applications should be placed in this menu. In most circumstances, if an application is not available, it is best to attempt to open the file with the desired application outside of Mylio to confirm that the media opens as expected.

Open With and Lightroom / Photoshop on Windows 7 and 8

Windows 7 and 8 machines running Lightroom and Photoshop may experience issues using Mylio’s Open With… command. This is due to Lightroom / Photoshop not being a valid Open With… location until the media type has been opened in that application. To solve this:

  1. Close Mylio.
  2. Locate a media with the same extension of the one you are trying to use Mylio’s Open With… command with (such as a jpg, dng, CR2, etc…).
  3. Right-click on the file and select Open with.. and select Lightroom / Photoshop.
  4. Once opened, Mylio will now allow you to use the Open With… command on all files that share the same extension.
