Troubleshooting: “Moving folders/files on disk” or “Sending to…” is Constantly Displayed in Activity Panel

This article may help Mylio fix syncing issues if your library is exhibiting any of these behaviors:

  1. Mylio displays Moving Files on Disk continuously in the sync panel with no progress or with looping progress.

  2. Mylio displays Moving Folders on Disk continuously in the sync panel with no progress or with looping progress.

  3. Mylio displays Receiving files from… or Sending files to…. with no progress.

Note: this article outlines running commands within Mylio’s Console. If you are not comfortable with the following steps, please Contact Support

Stuck Moving Files on Computer

  1. Open Mylio on the device that is not working as expected.

  2. Select Help from the More Menu (the three dots in the top-right)

  3. Select Console.

  4. Within the Console, type…
    orphans

  5. Once the command has been run, type…
    orphans fixroots

  6. Once the command has been run, type…
    orphans fixfolders

  7. Once the command has been run, type…
    orphans fixmedias

  8. Restart Mylio

Stuck Moving Files on External Drive

  1. Open Mylio on the computer that the external drive is attached to.

  2. Using the Dashboard, ensure that the drive is online.

  3. Select Help from the More Menu (the three dots in the top-right)

  4. Select Console.

  5. Within the Console, type the following command, replacing devicename with the name of the drive that is stuck moving files or folders. Type the name exactly as it appears in Mylio…

    orphans devicename

  6. Once the command has been run, type the following command, again replacing devicename with the name of the drive that is stuck moving files or folders.
    orphans devicename fixroots

  7. Once the command has been run, type the following command, again replacing devicename with the name of the drive that is stuck moving files or folders.

    orphans devicename fixfolders

  8. Once the command has been run, type the following command, again replacing devicename with the name of the drive that is stuck moving files or folders.
    orphans devicename fixmedias

  9. Quit and reopen Mylio Photos

Once these commands have been processed, Mylio should display no activity or activity should be making progress in the Activity panel. Mylio may have created a new folder called Lost and Found at the top level of your folder structure. This folder may contain images or folders that Mylio did not have a destination for. These files or folders can manually be moved to their desired location. Once empty, Lost and Found can be deleted from Mylio.
