Known Issue: Media Not Importing on Android

Some Android users may notice that photos and videos on their device are not importing into Mylio Photos. This is a known issue, and our engineering team is actively working on a fix.

What’s Happening

On certain Android devices, Mylio Photos may not automatically detect or import media from standard system folders such as DCIM or Pictures, even though the media exists on the device.

Temporary Workaround

Until this issue is resolved, you can manually re-add the media folders in Mylio Photos.

  1. Open Mylio Photos on your Android device.

  2. Tap the + button in the top app bar.

  3. Select Manage Media Library.

  4. Make sure Enable importing of media from directories is turned on.

  5. Tap the + button and add the DCIM and Pictures folders.

If the folders are already listed:

  • Remove DCIM and Pictures from the list.

  • Close Mylio Photos completely.

  • Reopen the app and add the folders again.

What to Expect

This workaround may restore importing in many cases, but it is not a permanent fix. A future update will address the underlying issue so media imports reliably without manual steps.
