Troubleshooting: Sync Stops When Screen Turns Off
If Mylio Photos stops syncing when your screen turns off, the device is likely going to sleep. How you address this depends on whether you're on a computer or a mobile device.
Computers (Mac and Windows)
Mylio Photos can sync in the background on a computer, but the computer must be awake and active. Your screen can turn off without interrupting sync, but if the computer itself goes to sleep, sync will pause.
To fix this, adjust your power or sleep settings so the display can turn off while the system stays active:
- Mac: Go to System Settings > Battery (on laptops) or System Settings > Displays (on desktops) and look for sleep or Power Nap options.
- Windows: Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep and look for separate controls for screen timeout and sleep.
The exact options may vary depending on your OS version. Look for a setting that lets the screen turn off while keeping the computer awake.
Mobile Devices (iPhone, iPad, Android)
Mylio Photos does not support background sync on mobile devices. The app must be open and running in the foreground for sync to continue. If you switch apps or the screen turns off, sync will pause.
If you have a large sync job to run:
- Wait until you don't need to use your device (overnight works well).
- Plug your device into power.
- Open Mylio Photos and leave it running in the foreground.
